NASWC Bird Walk 02.04.07

Birds Observed on the NASWC Bird Walk.

  • Green-winged Teal
  • Turkey Vulture
  • Red-shouldered Hawk - seen briefly at the end of the walk
  • Killdeer
  • Greater Yellowlegs
  • Solitary Sandpiper - rare in winter
  • Least Sandpiper
  • White-winged Dove
  • Mourning Dove
  • Red-bellied Woodpecker - excavating a hole in a dead tree limb in the flood plain property
  • Eastern Phoebe
  • Blue Jay
  • American Crow
  • Carolina Chickadee
  • Carolina Wren - Heard only
  • Bewick's Wren - Heard mostly but briefly seen
  • Ruby-crowned Kinglet
  • American Robin
  • Northern Mockingbird
  • European Starling
  • American Pipit - seen walking in the creek bed near the shorebirds
  • Cedar Waxwing
  • Yellow-rumped Warbler - Many more were present this week than preceding weeks.
