NASWC Bird Walk 07.07.07

Birds Observed on the NASWC Bird Walk.

  • Great Egret - flying over the soccer fields
  • Snowy Egret - several on the creek
  • Green Heron
  • Red-shouldered Hawk
  • Killdeer
  • Solitary Sandpiper
  • Rock Pigeon
  • White-winged Dove
  • Mourning Dove
  • Chimney Swift
  • Belted Kingfisher
  • Downy Woodpecker
  • Eastern Phoebe - Many were about. One was watched vocalizing on top of a soccer goal.
  • Western Kingbird - Briefly seen at a distance at the beginning of the walk.
  • Scissor-tailed Flycatcher - Lots, including many juvenile birds
  • Blue Jay
  • American Crow
  • Purple Martin
  • Cliff Swallow
  • Barn Swallow
  • Carolina Wren - Heard only.
  • American Robin - Mostly juvenile birds seen.
  • Northern Mockingbird
  • European Starling
  • Northern Cardinal
  • Common Grackle
  • Great-tailed Grackle
  • Bronzed Cowbird
  • House Finch - Two were seen next to the kingfisher at the end of the walk.
  • House Sparrow
