With news of wildfires around the State of Texas, and the recent fires in the Oak Hill neighborhood, Williamson County has posted an article on their web page about wildfires, and a link to the publication "Ready, Set, Go! Your Personal Wildfire Action Plan" which was prepared by the Texas Forest Service in association with the International Fire Chiefs Association.

A notice from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office:
Information from The Texas Forest Service.  Studies have shown that 80% of homes lost to wildfires may have been saved if a few of the preventive measures had been followed. Some homes survived the large fire in Oak Hill.  In the event of major wildfires there will not be enough firefighters or equipment to defend every home. Please pass it on. This affects every home as hot embers from these fires can travel miles.
