Mosquitoes — Continue “Fight the Bite”

Williamson County reported in early October that West Nile Virus has been identified in a mosquito trap sample in Cedar Park.  Residents are encouraged to continue precautions against mosquitoes:

Fight the Bite is the program that offers tips for avoiding mosquito bites with the 3 D approach:

DEFEND – use an EPA approved Insect Repellent

DRESS – Dress in long sleeves and pants when outside (especially at dawn & dusk)

DRAIN – Drain standing water around your home
(such as flower pots, pet dishes, and bird baths, outdoor toys), so mosquitoes don’t have a place to breed

Williamson County adds a fourth D to the list:  DUSK and DAWN – stay indoors
